February brought with it it’s very own charm, being the month of love.
Romancing over different headwear shapes could be regarded as one of life’s fine luxuries, but for me it really is the vital ingredient to add to the hat lover’s potion. There is much glamour to be gained along with the feeling of joy as we quench the thirst.
Staring straight through the bottle takes me back in time to a collection of impressionist paintings, boasting in their own splendour and zest for life. Somewhere amongst the brushstrokes sits a distinctive hat or two. Scenes of vast open space contrast with the more complicated ones of hustle and bustle. The dilemma now setting in, which to pick?
As a milliner I’m visualising the Picture hat, a Bowler or Boater, coupled with searching affectionately for my favourite, the Cloche. In my dreams I’m in the middle of the long lazy days of summer. Alas, back to reality with March only just here, I can’t wait for Spring to knock.
Having a great passion for making handmade hats using traditional millinery methods I also like to add a modern twist, flirting with Fascinators, engaging in Headpieces so beautiful, bold and bespoke.
In the case of those Brides, Bride’s Mothers and Mothers of the Groom, a liaison with a hatter that designs to flatter!
